Carbon Monoxide Monitoring in Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Clients
City of Lake Havasu Arizona
To help the city of Lake Havasu City, Arizona curtail dangerous concentrations of carbon monoxide (CO) emitted from pleasure boats along the Bridgewater Channel recreational boating area, Sonoma Technology provided a real-time web-based reporting system to support ambient CO monitoring along the channel. High densities of boats in the small area had contributed to very high ambient concentrations of CO, endangering both the public and city employees working in the area. The reporting system provided real-time data polled from a state-of-the-science CO monitoring system, and automatically alerted city police and fire departments when meteorological conditions and high numbers of operating boats combined to produce hazardous CO concentrations. Sonoma Technology also provided expert testimony on the monitoring data to the city in support of two legal cases.
