To support a client’s goal of improving the power output from the wind farm outside their Nevada facility, STI conducted sodar wind measurements to better understand the meteorological conditions that affect the area. Using state-of-the-science sodar equipment, STI collected wind speed measurements from 40 m to 450 m above ground level; these data were used to improve wind forecasts to help the client better predict the electrical output from their wind farm. STI collected, quality controlled, analyzed, summarized, and provided the data to the client in real-time.
