Sonoma Technology is seeking an Air Quality Emissions/Modeler to join our Atmospheric and Emissions Modeling Group. For more information about our culture, visit <a href="http://www.sonomatech.com/charter" target="_blank">www.sonomatech.com/charter</a href>.</p> Sonoma Technology is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.</p> <b>Key Responsibilities</b> <ul><li>Conduct technical analyses using advanced emissions and air quality models to address complex environmental problems and meet the research, regulatory, and litigation support needs of our clients.</li> <li>Develop, process, and assess emissions inventories to support regional-scale and near-field air quality assessments.</li> <li>Visualize, analyze, and interpret model data and other environmental datasets.</li> <li>Apply statistical methods to compare model results with observation data.</li> <li>Prepare technical reports and communicate results to clients and other scientific researchers.</li> <li>Work with interdisciplinary teams in a collaborative applied research environment.</li></ul> <b>Required Qualifications and Skills</b> <ul><li>A BS, MS, or PhD degree in the physical sciences, environmental sciences, or engineering.</li> <li>Experience in air quality modeling (e.g., using CMAQ, HYSPLIT, or AERMOD), meteorological modeling, or emissions assessment.</li> <li>Strong data analysis and computer skills.</li> <li>Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability and willingness to learn through on-the-job internal and external training.</li> <li>A strong interest in air quality and environmental science.</li> <li>Aptitude for working independently and within a team.</li></ul> <b>Desired Qualifications</b> <ul><li>Knowledge of atmospheric processes.</li> <li>Experience with a data science and analysis platform (e.g., Python, R, Matlab, IDL).</li> <li>Experience working in a Linux computing environment.</li> <li>Experience with the U.S. EPA National Emission Inventory, emissions inventory development, and using SMOKE and related tools to develop emissions inputs for air quality models.</li> <li>Experience or interest in mobile source activity analysis (e.g., travel activity modeling), emissions modeling (e.g., using MOVES, EMFAC, NONROAD, OFFROAD), or transportation-related air quality analysis.</li></ul> <b>Submitting a Résumé</b><br> No phone calls, please.
